LEMONT, IL — After accumulating snow fell across much of the greater Chicago are over the weekend and into Monday, village of Lemont officials are warning local residents that they will need to move their cars over the next two days so that snow removal can take place.
Odd-even parking restrictions will be in effect starting at 9 a.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday, the village said.
Village officials are asking residents to remove their vehicles from village streets if possible to facilitate snow removal from streets. If residents must park on the street, they are asked to park on the odd numbered side of the street on odd-numbered calendar days (Tuesday) and on even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered calendar days (Wednesday).
After much of the Chicago area saw between 3-5 inches of snow fall Saturday night into Sunday, more snow snarled Monday's commuter traffic with the National Weather Service calling for an additional 2-3 inches of snow during the morning hours.
