Fast paced growing fitness organization seeking a highly motivated individual to join our facilities maintenance department. Facilities Tech performs a variety of routine skilled maintenance for multiple facilities; ensures that facilities and amenities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and fully operable condition. This person would work directly with facilities director with new construction and remodels as company grows setting parameters and policy for department growth. Distinguishing Characteristics Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for performing a variety of routine skilled maintenance for District facilities and receives direct supervision and support from higher-level supervisory staff and direction from higher-level staff. He or She receives occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies that you will be onboarded with. Work is reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. Position may direct lower-level staff where applicable. Must be able to take direction from multiple outlets, staff, members, and supervisors, prioritizes, coordinate and complete requests in a timely manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Performs a variety of routine skilled maintenance for District facilities, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair. Ensures that facilities and amenities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and operable condition. • Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves facility furnishings and equipment. • Conducts routine inspections on facility equipment for operation and safety. Reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor. • Coordinates authorized work with outside vendors. • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies, corrects, and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor. • Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required. • Keeps workspace clean and free of hazards. • Performs related duties, as assigned. Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED; • Minimum one year of facilities maintenance work related experience. • Fitness repair, construction experience and or water recreation operation a plus. • Valid Washington state drivers license and good driving record • Reliable transportation • Must have own hand tools Qualifications Knowledge and abilities to: • Methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of facilities and equipment. • Must be able to read plans, equipment diagrams and parts breakdowns and identify parts for repair and replacement. • Operational characteristics and safe operation of, and maintain a variety of hand, power tools and equipment. • Identify occupational hazards and observe standard safety practices. • Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service. • Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Independently organize work, set priorities, meet, and set deadlines, and follow up on assignments. • Obtain quotes, research information and coordinate work with vendors. • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships. • Maintain records and files on work performed. • Use a computer for communication and record keeping. • Effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing. Physical Demands Must possess: mobility to perform to medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, and scaffolding to operate a variety of tools and equipment, man and material lifts and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to distinguish colors in wiring; Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Must possess the ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment. Environmental Elements Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Exposure to possible mechanical and electrical hazards, and pool chemicals. Will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures. Working Conditions On occasion, may be assigned an on-call and irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
