Description
Hey there,
I am Americana / Alt-Country artist based out of Idaho. However, I'm originally from the Midwest (born and raised in MI and spent my 20’s in Chicago). I’m back in Chicago about 3x a year and I’d like to start booking shows when I’m in town. Thus, I’m looking for some sub players to fill in for occasional shows. First weekend I thinking about coming to town is June 17th & 18th. I’m also planning a little tour either the last week of July or 1st week of August. (dates would include 1-2 shows in Chicago, a Milwaukee show and Michigan dates in GR, Detroit, Traverse City and a private party in near Houghton Lake, MI. So, there would be more opportunities for shows outside of the Chicago shows if you were interested. No problem if you’re just available for shows in the city.
Here's my press kit. It has links to music, videos, etc so you can get an idea of my sound and vibe: www.ryancurtismusic.us/epk
I have charts and professional recording for you to learn from as well.
Players needed
Drummer - Looking for someone that is extremely proficient in country style drumming (train beats at various speeds and brush work is a must).
Lead Player:
Country/blues Electric Guitar (multi-instrumentalist that can play lap or pedal steel is BIG plus)- looking for a pro level picker. Tone is equally important. The sound I love is vintage 50's/60's style twang. Lots of reverb, tremolo, slight natural overdrive. Music examples: JD McPherson, Charlie Crocket, Wayne Hancock. I also dig the classic 70's outlaw country tones of Waylon, Merle, etc..
Bass: preferably somebody with country bass experience. I have charts to learn from, but need somebody that got an ear to follow along easily as well.
