Description

I am moving to known crime area of Gainesville with a young child. How are residents keeping safe with all of the crime there? I work remote, so needless to say I'll be in this crime-ridden area for most of the day. I am nervous to walk my dogs, sensing someone is watching my every move, waiting for me to slip up. What can I do to keep safe? Also, a little background, I make 75k salary, but my credit is not good enough to qualify for safe, decent housing without a cosigner. It is only myself and my son. We do not have any family or close friends to ask to cosign. Question is: How can I keep safe in this area? How can I not make myself a target to become a victim of crime? Are there any Gainesville natives that can provide a little guidance on keeping safe with a young child in such a rough area of Gainesville?
