Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a lumber and building materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate for our Palm Bay, Florida location. Under direct supervision the qualified candidate will perform a variety of yard activities including operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists customers in the location and loading of product. 2. Reviews materials loaded against invoice or requisition; completes and routes paperwork appropriately. 3. Moves product/material throughout the yard ensuring placement in correct areas. 4. Ensures product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times. 5. Performs routine clean-up of yard. 6. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. 7. Other duties may be assigned. COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of various types of lumber Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment. Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks Strong customer service skills Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two years of lumber and building materials experience preferred Forklift experience preferred   Tibbetts Lumber Co.
