Shawsheen is seeking Full-Time Machine Operators and Assistant Machine Operators to join their team in Andover, MA. As a Machine Operator, you will help perform the necessary duties to run a coating machine. Coating is the application of water and solvent-based adhesives to fabric, paper, foam, and film substrates to produce a dried, finished, coated product. RESPONSIBILITIES *Load and operate adhesive coating or slitting machines *Follow machine operating instructions and product specifications. *Operate machines to meet or exceed targeted production rates. *Produce materials to meet all quality and product specification requirements. *Identify and communicate any processing or quality problems to the Department Supervisor. *Identify and communicate any machine operating or mechanical issues to the Department Supervisor or Maintenance Dept. *Continuously monitor and adjust machine settings to meet specifications. *Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the machine and surrounding areas. *Work with other machinery as requirements demand (and for which training will be provided.)  *Follow all safety and environmental rules, requirements, and procedures as established in the facility. *Wear personal protection and hygiene equipment (hair net, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses) during machine operation. *Other duties as needed. SCHEDULE This is a full-time position working Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm OR Tuesday – Friday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, depending on Machine assignment, as well as an additional day of 8 hours overtime when needed. COMPENSATION Starting wage between $18 – $26/hour, depending on knowledge and experience as well as a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Pay is negotiable for applicants with experience with Guzzetti/Catbridge rewind slitters. QUALIFICATIONS *High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.  *Experience in coating or finishing paper and textiles is preferred. *Experience in machine operation is a plus.  *Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001-2015 and/or ISO13485 quality standards is a plus.  *Experience with Guzzetti/Catbridge rewind slitters is a plus. *Computer skills are a plus. *Ability to stand for long periods of time. *Ability to bend, kneel, and lift and/or carry weight up to 50 pounds. *Ability to pass basic math and English tests. *Excellent verbal and written communication skills. *Ability to perform job functions utilizing written procedures, verbal instructions, and visual aids.  *Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. *Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  *Willingness to work 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed.  *Must have dependable transportation.
