Nora Brown brings her special brand of banjo and old-time music to Colgate and the Hamilton community.
Nora Brown “has a host of roots music legends pouring out of her fingertips and through her lips” says music critics at The Bluegrass Situation. At the ripe old age of 16, this Brooklyn born and raised banjo player has already garnered the attention of old-time and bluegrass music fans across the world. She started learning music at the age of 6 from Shlomo Pestcoe in NYC not known as a hot bed for traditional music. She has travelled to the hills of Appalachia to learn directly from old masters like Lee Sexton and George Gibson. Nora was recently featured on NPR's Bob Boilen's (Tiny Desk Concert) "Very Best of 2021" list. On a special afternoon in April, she will be performing an intimate show at our local coffee roasters, FoJo Beans.
*Tickets will be required for entrance.
