Description

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck will begin its 2022 real estate revaluation this spring, after contracting with Waterbury-based eQuality Valuation Services LLC to do the work. The borough is paying eQuality $159,000 on the effort, which was unanimously approved by the Board of Mayor and Burgesses earlier this month. Property revaluations are conducted by municipalities every few years to help set tax rates based on the values of a community's properties. Naugatuck's most recent revaluation, in 2018, saw property values rise by more than 6 percent, reported My Citizen News. Three companies bid on the contract, which the borough plans to sign this month. The reval process is slated to begin in April, with field inspections starting in May. Work reportedly should be completed and reviewed in the fall.
