Summit Students Offered College Tuition Aid With PEP Program

SUMMIT, NJ — Motivated Summit Public School sixth graders have an opportunity to get a head-start on the college application process with the PEP Program. PEP — which stands for Providing Educational Possibilities — is looking to support current Summit sixth graders by offering academic and social-emotional support, as well as college tuition assistance. Applications for the program are now open. The PEP Foundation is a private non-profit organization in Summit that focuses on providing students rigorous academic training to prepare them for college and future careers. "The program includes subject-based tutoring, study skills and test prep, character development and cultural enrichment, along with ongoing post-graduate support," Michael McCook, Executive Director of PEP said. McCook said PEP students demonstrate a commitment to both academic excellence and community service, with an emphasis on civic responsibility. He described the program as "focused, challenging and rigorous" and that most successful PEP students are achievement-oriented. In order to be considered for the PEP program, students and parents must first complete an application process.
