Press release from the University of Houston-Downtown: January 18, 2022 In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, The University of Houston-Downtown's Center for Diversity & Inclusion is hosting a discussion on the documentary "King In The Wilderness: The Final Years of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." The event will be held virtually via Zoom from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 20. The documentary takes a deep dive into the final years of King's life and explores the conflicts and conversations that defined his role as a pivotal leader during the Civil Rights Movement. Participants are encouraged to watch the film in advance, which is available to all UHD campus community members through the Library Kanopy subscription. Register online to participate.
