PITTSBURGH, PA — There is no way to make sense of the senseless. The senseless occurred outside of Oliver Citywide Academy on Wednesday, when 15-year-old Marquis Campbell was shot and killed as he sat in a school van. Two masked people approached the van and fired at the teen in what appeared to be a targeted shooting. Mayor Ed Gainey immediately pledged to devote whatever resources were necessary to apprehend the shooters. Oliver went to online learning for the rest of the week; one can only imagine how nervous students and staff will be returning to the school on Monday.
