Hey there. I'm a singer songwriter that has released several albums in my "solo career" (I've been in a couple of bands before that) and I've been riding the wave of publicity and interest for my latest album. To hear it and read more about me, visit: ajrosales.com.
I describe what I'm doing as loosely "progressive acoustic" singer-songwriter, but the influences I have come from a mix of various rock artists from the last and current century. I try to be open minded about my what I listen to, and I like to work with people that have the same mentality. That being said, one thing I appreciate is melodic complexity, and the more savvy you are at creating that, the more I'd be interested in see what transpires. Pre-pandemic I tried to play a lot of shows (especially the montrose saloon), but I've found that lately, much of the opportunity for solo performances is not very gratifying. I'm trying to put together a band to gig and perform tunes from my latest album, and my previous albums, and also have new tunes and covers I do. I also play a few adventurous instrumentals.
A few bands I've covered include: R.E.M., The Who, Grant Lee Buffalo, Radiohead, Keane, David Bowie, The Beatles, etc...
I'm a fairly skilled arranger and I'm quite comfortable in studio settings as well. The reason I mention that is because I arranged the instruments on my records and so music readers would definitely be helpful. Eventually it would be cool to establish a friendship / working relationship with a group of musicians to develop something unique but to kick start things, I have bass charts. I feel like they establish the tone of what I'm doing pretty well, and would get things off and running fairly quickly. There is room for development as I have a body of new work that is mostly unperformed for audiences.
Anyway, that's enough for now. If interested, please contact me either here of off my website. Thanks, and have a great one!
