Who we're looking for: We're looking to build the best teams possible with highly motivated and engaged employees. We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Super/Handyman in the Clinton neighborhood of Brooklyn. Essential duties and responsibilities: 123-unit buildings overseeing 2 porters Cleaning the common areas, such as the lobby, sidewalk, hallways, stairways, etc. Managing the garbage and recycling Maintenance: Regular/ ordinary: include simple things like replacing blown light bulbs, lubricating locks, flushing boilers, and checking roof drains Operational/ Systems: knowing the systems of the building, such as the hot water and heat, lighting systems, etc. Seasonal: such as clearing snow and checking over radiators to make sure their properly prepped for winter (before the heating season starts) Minor repairs: Things come up that need a relatively quick fix, like replacing a light fixture or a water faucet Diagnosing problems: Locating and/or fixing the maintenance problems quickly and efficiently Cosmetic improvements: Keep the building looking fresh and pretty, such as painting touch-ups for the lobby and hallways "Eyes and Ears." This includes monitoring and supervising events at the building, watching the stuff outside contractors do inside the building and monitoring important large building projects. It also includes everyday things like move-ins and outs, make sure that building policies are being followed, or looking out for suspicious activities Customer service and interfacing with residents, whether its a complaint, request, comment, or question. Residents also need to interact with their supers when they need help problem-solving a maintenance issue in their apartment or help with a lockout. Emergency Response: Being the first responder to any emergency call Qualifications, skills and abilities: Experience with repairs, maintenance, mechanicals Able to communicate thru emails Must have excellent organizational skills Strong leadership with a proactive approach to problem solving, required Customer Service oriented with the ability to keep calm in stressful situations Must be able to respond quickly to Emergencies Gas, Fire and Flood Bilingual a plus.
