Description

Join us at the Goose Creek Library to learn more about the Wassamassaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians, a local state-recognized tribe. Lisa Collins, Tribal Administrator, will be doing an overview of the Wassamassaw Tribal History and discussing the 8 Tribal Bloodlines (Broad, Clark, Varner, Dangerfield, Driggers, Burbage, Huff, and Williams) and the other tribal bloodlines (the Etiwan, Cherokee, Catawba, Edisto) that make up the Wassamasaw Indian community native progenitors.  Additionally, the event will include a presentation by Cultural Preservationist, Tammy Leach, on cultural activities including applique beading, using our 8 tribal symbols. The presentation will include a review of the significance of those symbols and what they represent. We can't wait to see you!
