SWEET ESSENTIALS | A celebration for our donating artists! SWEET ESSENTIALS | February 23, 2022 The Auction can’t happen without the art and the artists who donate! This psrty is the time to say THANK YOU to the artists who make the Auction possible. Join us in celebrating the artists and artwork of AUCTION with champagne and chocolates. This is the last night to secure that special piece and make it all yours! Doors open at 5 pm and the party is rocking until 9 pm at the KCAC GALLERIES 3200 GILLHAM ROAD. Masks are required and please signup for a 1hr timeblock so we can manage capacity for COVID. The Kansas City Artists Coalition was created to change the lives of artists living in Kansas City, Missouri. On March 5, 1975 a large group of artists gathered in the studio of local artists Philomene Bennett and Lou Marak to address “How the Artist Can Benefit from Centralization.” Overwhelmingly the group felt a self-initiated organization was the only alternative to isolation, elitism, apathy, and ignorance. The ultimate result of that meeting was the incorporation of the Kansas City Artist Coalition in August 1976. The Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC or Artists Coalition) is an artist-centered, artist-run alternative space that presents a variety of exhibitions of contemporary artists' work in its galleries.
