The Position: We are seeking to fill a Full Time, Long Term position of a Messenger / Porter. The role will include delivering small packages from our workshop in queens, to manhattan and brooklyn via subway and making pickups to bring back. The role also includes porter/custodial work around the workshop - including cleaning (machines, bathrooms, common spaces etc), putting away deliveries, organizing areas, assisting with hazmat. (Please Note Hazmat work is limited to disposal of paint and related materials. All PPE and Training will be provided to ensure a safe working knowledge of the tasks at hand. ) Experience preferred, but all training will be given as needed with all other areas as well Unlimited Metro card will be included. Duties will include a full range of tasks. Must be able to lift 40lbs comfortably. MUST BE: Reliable and punctual. Honest and hardworking Be able to fit in well with a great team of people. The hours would be 8am to 4.45pm Monday through Friday plus overtime (which is sometimes required early morning or weekend). Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week at 1.5 time rate. Pay will be hourly around $17/hr. Compensation will be hourly. With overtime paid, a 401k with discretionary matching and full health insurance also provided. The Candidate: The candidate will have a great attitude, be willing to help people, and get along with the other 40 people in the facility. The candidate will need to be able to work independently, and be trust worthy, honest and hardworking. Experience with areas such as knowledge of the city, previous messenger experience a plus, facility maintenance / repair / cleaning / painting would be helpful but not necessary. The candidate should be punctual and reliable, this position will be a key part of the team and the need to work hard and get on well with people is important
