His two bands, The R&B Cadets and Semi-Twang were Milwaukee favorites and now he’s combining the R&B with the Twang in his new group, The John Sieger Combo. He’ll be joined by Mike Sieger on bass and brother harmonies, the two Bobs, Jennings and Schneider, who played in both bands, on keyboards, sax and drums. Newcomer Jeff Stehr, from the great Ska band The Tritonics, will be adding more colors on the keyboards. The emphasis will be on up-tempo, danceable songs with the occasional timeout for a tender ballad or two. If you can handle having too much fun, get yourself down to a nightspot near you and catch The Combo! The new John Sieger Combo brings a fresh take on the songs of their leader. John, with his brother Mike (bass), Bob Jennings (keys/sax), Bobby Schneider (drums) all played in two of Milwaukee’s favorite bands, The R&B Cadets and recent WAMI Hall of Fame inductees, Semi-Twang. Jeff Stehr, formerly of The tritonics, will be the second man on keysThe Cadets were on the blue side of the road, playing the kind of Soul and R&B heard in the ‘60s and earlier. Semi-Twang, as the name more than hints at, was a little more (But not all the way!) Country sounding. As John wrote songs for both groups (and a couple dozen other well known artists) he came to see two things as one. The JSC will play those songs and some newer ones — along with a tasty cover of two — with a heavy emphasis on dancing and fun. The two keyboard lineup is an exciting change and after they get their sea legs, they’ll be looking to add a sax to flesh things out. $15 adv/ $20 at the door (advance sales until 3pm day of show, then available at the door). Doors at 7pm, showtime 8pm
