Description

It breaks my heart to tears, but we need to give up Louie. We are retiring and moving out of state. All of the retirement places we are looking into will not take big dogs. We've explained he has great behavior. But, they don't care. Louie is a good looking dog, with nice markings. We've received many compliments on him. He is playful with dogs off-leash; he really enjoys romping with other dogs his size. On leash, he gets a little protective. But I've trained him to sit and command 'gentleman' when other dogs pass by us on walks. I’ve trained him to walk on my left and he’s fine with bicyclists and other people passing by. If cats ignore him, he's fine. If cats start to arch and hiss, he gets curious and defensive like a squirrel is there. Louie is friendly around adults. He's friendly around children and sees the 'play' energy with them. When Louie is unsure, he gets shy and dodgy. He's not aggressive. He's never tried to bite. Which is more than I can say for my last dog.... a Pomeranian that bit me three times because other dogs scared him. Louie is in excellent health at 65 lbs and 5 years old. He is current on his shots, license, neutered, and microchipped. When Louie is excited about something, he goes and gets a toy in his mouth. Louie is very trainable and a big pleaser. He's food motivated and has no allergies that we know of. His COMMANDS are sit, wait, drop (to lay down), drop (to drop what's in his mouth), circles (around the right side of a person), spin, high five/shake, crate up, catch (toys or food), and gentleman. Inside, he's a big couch potato and likes to be covered with a blanket. He reluctantly gets into the bathtub, but once in, he'll stay there and let you wash him. He is fed twice a day and will remind you at those times that his dinner is coming up. Louie DOES NOT dig, scratch, chew (only his toys/bones), door dash, fence climb or pee in the house. He is great with a crate. Just command ‘crate up’ and he gets in. He is one of the best dogs I've had. He will come with beds, crate, harness/leash, food/food container, food table, brushes. If you're local, I can deliver him and would love to see his new home. On Craigslist we will ask a small fee; to protect the dog from the obvious.
