Come out and try your luck at the tables for great causes! Wilmington Periodontics & Implant Center presents the 1st Casino Night hosted by the Wrightsville Beach Foundation. Tickets are $75 per person which includes admission, 2 drink tickets and $10,000 in chips. There will be an silent auction and raffle with exciting items. Proceeds benefit the New Hanover County Weekend Meals on Wheels, Wrightsville Beach Town Employees Disaster Relief Fund, New pickleball / tennis courts with matching PARTF grant funds, Jeremy Owens Memorial Foundation and the Wrightsville Beach Foundation. The Wrightsville Beach Foundation (WBF), is non-profit organization founded in 2005 when a group of WB Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (WBPRAC) members and concerned residents identified a gap between park amenity needs and lack of town funding. The committee obtained non-profit status and started a membership and sponsorship drive with proceeds going towards improvement of the park equipment such as a new gazebo, picnic table and grills and a kayak for the Wrightsville Beach Elementary School.  Our MISSION STATEMENT is a commitment to develop and promote a venue that will have the ability to generate funds that can be used to promote, improve and enhance the quality and enjoyment of our islands parks and recreation programs and amenities. Some of our recent accomplishments include: TASTE OF WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH –created the Inaugural Taste of Wrightsville Beach in 2012. This popular event celebrates our local island cuisine.  FARMERS MARKET- This popular event would not have happened if the WBF had not stepped in and committed to fully funding the operational costs of the market so NO tax dollars would be used. WB OCEAN RESCUE CALENDAR –created this calendar to raise funds for the Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue Team’s participation in the National Lifeguard Competition.   FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT AND CONCERTS IN THE PARK- helped fund these well attended community events. WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH PARK AMENITIES- donated funds to the Town for equipment and programs.  HARBOR ISLAND GARDEN CLUB WATER FEATURE –made a $500 donation toward this exciting addition to the Harbor Way Garden. BIKE RACKS –donated 3 bike racks and installed them at popular beach accesses. ISLAND BEAUTIFICATION– Since its inception the WBF has continuously worked with the Town, the Harbor Island Garden Club and the residents and businesses to create and maintain many focal points on the island.  ENHANCED LIGHTING – The canopy lighting on both sides of the drawbridge were the result of collaboration with the WBF, Harbor Island Garden Club and the Town. Additionally, the WBF donated Christmas lights at the Welcome to Wrightsville Beach sign, and plans are in the works to add additional Christmas lights to be enjoyed by all in the years to come. OFFICIAL WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH FLAGS – The WBF and the Town created the official Wrightsville Beach flag. The WBF provides the Town with the flags that fly at several Town properties, and they are available at local businesses and on the "Shop WBF" tab. SKATE DAY IN THE PARK – The WBF hosted a couple of skate day in the park events to raise awareness about the local popularity of the sport and helmet safety.
