Press release from Hillsborough County: Jan. 21, 2022 Through support from Hillsborough County, cultural organizations across the county have access to critical matching grants in this year's Cultural Development Grants program. The application period is open through Feb. 18. The Cultural Development Grant Program provides program support for local cultural organizations with programming that serves diverse audiences and reaches geographically diverse communities across Hillsborough County. The grant program is intended to support and grow both the cultural and administrative operations of the nonprofit organizations it serves. Funds provided through this program are also intended to enhance the organization's ability to attract new audiences and increase funding from other sources. The matching grant program is available to Hillsborough cultural organizations that meet the following requirements: An organization applying for a grant must have as its primary mission the delivery of cultural programs. Applicant organizations must be registered as an active nonprofit Florida corporation with the Florida Division of Corporations and have a principal address in Hillsborough County. Programs, services, and events must be open to the public and benefit residents of Hillsborough County. Organizations must show in their budget that they are capable of at least a dollar-for-dollar match for the grant amount requested from the Arts Council. Organizations must provide a complete copy of their most recently filed IRS Form 990. Applications from municipalities, governmental entities, educational institutions, and fiscal agents will not be accepted. The grant period takes place from Oct. 1, 2022, to Aug. 31, 2023. The grant provides operational support and can be used for a variety of organizational functions, including salary/payroll expenses, programming, rent, marketing, and more. The maximum amount an organization can apply to receive is $25,000 based on organizational budget size. These are reimbursement-based grants, so organizations must document and submit expenses prior to receiving payment. Organizations can apply online through Feb. 18. The Arts Council of Hillsborough County's Advisory Board reviews and scores each application. Funding is awarded based on this score. For questions, please email [email protected]. Applications for Community Arts Impact Grants and Community Arts Impact Grants for Higher Education will be open this spring. This press release was produced by Hillsborough County.
