This workshop, hosted by garden coordinator Jenny Calcaterra, focuses on extending the growing season and making harvests possible year round. In this workshop, we will discuss the possibilities of winter gardening using unheated cold frames or low tunnels. South Lansing Urban Gardens is a program of South Lansing Community Development Association (SLCDA).  Our mission is to engage neighbors and stakeholders in the development and implementation of programs/initiatives that improve community health and quality of life in South Lansing. These evolve over time based on feedback from our community. Current program areas focus on healthy food access (South Lansing Urban Gardens, South Lansing Farmers Market), recreational and fitness opportunities (Hawk Island Triathlon), and individual/organizational capacity building.
