POLK COUNTY, FL — Four $1,200 scholarships will be given to qualified Florida students in 2022, Lori Edwards, Polk County Supervisor of Elections, said. Scholarship applications opened Friday, and students who wish to apply must have at least a "C" average for the previous year, demonstrate financial need and be available for an interview in Polk County or in the county where they are registered to vote. Edwards said applicants must also: Registered to vote in the State of Florida Be a Citizen of the United StatesEnrolled as a full-time student in a senior college or university in FloridaMajoring in political science/public or business administration or journalism/mass communications Polk County residents may contact Lori Edwards at (863) 534-5888, or by email at [email protected].
