This February, take an art class and get inspired. Zentangle for the Seasons (Ages 13+) Tuesdays, February 1 โ 22 โข Zentangle is an easy-to-learn method of drawing patterns step by step. It is relaxing, gratifying and a great way to exercise the creative side of your brain! It may look simple, but there's a lot going on here. Savor this time as you discover and enjoy all that the Zentangle Method (and you!) have to offer. Painting with Eunique (Age 5 โ 10) Wednesdays, February 2 โ 23 โข Join fellow bluegrass music lovers for great live music by bands from southwest Florida and beyond! Our popular Palmgrass bluegrass concerts are always a toe-tapping good time. ArtPlay: Photography for Artists with Autism Thursdays, February 3 โ 24 โข Our ArtPlay classes, hosted in partnership with Family Initiative, are designed to engage students ages 8 โ 25 with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the arts while focusing on identity development, self-awareness, self-esteem, social communication, and building positive coping skills. This course explores photography basics, shadows and angels, photographing people and photographing up close! Off the Wall Street Art (Ages 12 โ 18) Thursdays, February 3 โ 24 โข Using traditional media, students will explore the contemporary field of street art (typography, character design, environmental interaction, etc.) creating pieces that build upon classic art techniques. Sparkling Watercolor Still Life Painting (Ages 13+) Saturday, February 5 โข Add life to you still life paintings! No drab, dull scenes that look stale and static. Students will learn techniques to achieve a dynamic watercolor still life with realism and sparkle. There will be instructor demonstrations of various techniques with ample time for student hands on practice prior to completing a dynamic still life painting. Some drawing and watercolor experience is preferred. The Burnt Part Boys Presented by Alliance Youth Theatre Performances February 11 โ 12 โข The Burnt Part Boys is a richly authentic theatrical experience, a piece of musical theatre treasure with a book and score that reverberate as resonantly in audiences' souls as the acoustic instruments that provide the accompaniment. Paint Like Bob Ross Workshop: Ocean Breeze (Ages 13+) Saturday, February 12 โข Join Mathew Halstead, CRI of Lazy Painter Brushworks, for a classic Bob Ross painting workshop with friends at the Alliance. Find freedom on a canvas as Mathew leads you from start to finish through creating the moody ocean scene "Ocean Breeze." Students will take home a finished 16ร20 painting. Free Family Art Labs Saturday, February 19 โข Make creativity part of your family routine each month during Family Art Lab! Drop in for free, hands-on family fun from 10 a.m. to noon.
