SALEM, MA —As the city looks to make what it calls "significant investments" in school facilities in upcoming years, it is looking for feedback on creating those priorities. A School Facility Master Plan in development will guide those investments with community input sought to help develop them. "I think we would all agree that the quality of the learning spaces, the environment, the cleanliness, the airflow, the light are all critical components of our students' learning," Salem Superintendent Steve Zrike said on Thursday. "So we want your voice in that process." Zrike has previously said that among the investments he believes are necessary for the city is a new high school. "We need community voices to ensure that the plan reflects what you want for our school buildings and how they best support the teaching, learning, and community needs of the future," the city said. The survey takes about 20 minutes and responses remain anonymous. The survey can be found here in English and in Spanish.
