A food preservation workshop, hosted by Dorothy Albert, to discuss the various options for preserving harvested food crops.
Join us at the tail end of the growing season, as we discuss different ways to preserve your hard earned produce for months to come! Dorothy Albert will be showing us how she likes to use methods of dehydrating, fermenting, and even canning foods to make them last throughout the colder months with the most efficient use of time, labor and materials necessary.
In order to be able to offer exceptional gardening workshops to our community, we try to price the workshops to cover our costs of hosting them while keeping the registration affordable for our neighbors. If you can, we ask that you pay the suggested $15. You are always welcome to pay more to support our programming and subsidize attendance for other neighbors.
If the cost of this workshop is a burden for you but you still want to come, we will not turn you away! Please email Kelsi Briana Smith at [email protected] (or call at (517)999-3913) to discuss this option.
Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community and other stakeholders.
Since 1999, ANC has pioneered programs in health education and outreach, housing improvement, food security and nutrition education, youth development, commercial corridor revitalization, and social capital building. We do all of this with the generous support of the engaged and unique Eastside community.
