2022 APHEA Homeschool Convention | April 8th-9th, 2022 |Big Lake, AK Welcome to the 2022 APHEA Homeschool Convention! We are a non-profit organization of volunteers. For more than 30 years, our mission has been to support and encourage Alaska's homeschool families. This convention has something for the whole family, and we trust that you'll be refreshed and energized. We're excited to present a dynamic lineup of speakers, workshops, and vendors this year. Our headline speakers are Dr. Kathy Koch, Tricia Goyer, & Melissa Hannigan all from Celebrate Kids and Dan Beasley with HSLDA! Whether you're considering homeschooling or you're a long-time veteran, come join us for a great time! Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kathy Koch - Founder and President of Celebrate Kids Inc., Author and Speaker Featured Speaker: Tricia Goyer - Author, Speaker, Associate of Celebrate Kids, and homeschool mother of 10 children Featured Speaker: Melissa Hannigan - Author and Speaker for Celebrate Kids and homeschool mother of 4 children Featured Speaker: Dan Beasley - HSLDA Contact Attorney, homeschool father of 4 children We will have a Vendor Hall featuring a wide variety of businesses and organizations, both local and national. They will provide vendor workshops, educational demonstrations, and special events. Come learn about curriculums, teaching tools, youth organizations, and even camps and colleges. We'll also have a Silent Auction with dozens of items available for all ages. This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. There will be special workshops just for them! Our facility has a nursery/play area for younger children and a nursing mother's room. Please note that childcare is not provided, and parents are responsible for their children at all times. Childcare helpers are welcome to attend as part of your family registration. Early-bird registration for a family is $50 including an annual membership ($25 value) or $45 with no membership. This is a $15 discount off the normal registration price. Early-bird registration ends on March 1st. All pastors, widows/widowers, and grandparents attend the convention for FREE. Alaska Private and Home Educators Association (APHEA) has been Alaska's statewide Christian homeschool organization since 1986. We are committed to supporting and helping Alaska parents perform their God-given responsibility to train their children through private and home education. APHEA is a membership-based coalition of parents and others who have banded together for the furtherance of educational excellence through alternatives to the government-operated public schools.
