Press release from the Town of Milton: January 20, 2022 - 12:32pm Milton Police Advisory! Over the past three months there has been thirty-one reported cases of checks being stolen from various mailboxes throughout the town. The thefts have occurred from standard mailboxes, tamper proof mailboxes as well as residential mailboxes. The stolen checks are then being altered for large sums and cashed throughout the state at different financial institutions. To date over on hundred thousand dollars has been fraudulently obtained. We are asking the public to report any suspicious activity around any mailboxes. We also recommend the use of online banking services or hand delivering you letter directly to the post office.
