What's Up Prince William
January 19, 2022
Snow again? You got it.
Virginia may be getting a fresh blanket of it, for the second time this week.
From 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, a winter weather advisory will be in effect for Washington, D.C., as well as parts of Virginia and Maryland. Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park are included in the advisory.
Up to 2 inches of snow is anticipated, with some places expected to receive up to 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The winter weather could impact the morning commute, as the roads may be slick. The NWS is calling for rain and snow, and potentially sleet. It's forecasted to all become snow after 10 a.m.
Drivers should slow down and travel cautiously.
Crew members from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are mobilizing tonight into Thursday, according to a release from VDOT.
VDOT is encouraging the public to watch the weather, and make plans ahead of time to avoid unnecessary driving in the winter weather.
