Metallica, The Strokes, Foo Fighters To Headline Boston Calling

BOSTON — Boston Calling revealed its full lineup Friday, just a day after one of its original headliners backed out of the three-day festival. While Rage Against the Machine and Foo Fighters were originally supposed to headline, Rage Against the Machine dropped out Thursday, leaving Boston Calling to announce Metallica and The Strokes as the new Saturday and Sunday headliners. Weezer, HAIM, Avril Lavigne, Cheap Trick, and Modest Mouse will also be joining the bill for the Memorial Day Weekend festival. Boston Calling has been canceled for the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. This will be the first year back, taking place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Boston's Allston neighborhood. Rage Against the Machine and the Foo Fighters were originally set to headlinethe 2020 edition of the festival, but it and the following year were both canceled. Boston Calling is scheduled for May 27 through May 29 and tickets for all three days can be purchased on the Boston Calling website.
