ANDOVER, MA — Andover's coronavirus surge appears to be on the downslope, according to the latest state data released Thursday. The town's two-week average positive test rate fell from the prior Thursday's report, from 18.45 percent to 18 percent. The two-week case count continued to rise, from 873 to 992, or 196.5 daily cases per 100,000 residents. >>MA Town-By-Town Coronavirus: Average Case Count Below 10K The latest town release, which covers a Thursday-to-Wednesday single-week period, is not available, as of Friday morning. But the school dashboard also suggests local cases are on the decline, with 160 student and staff cases reported this week, versus over 200 last week and nearly 400 the week before. The latest state data also shows Andover is 79 percent fully vaccinated and 45.5 percent of residents have received a booster shot. Another ten percent of residents are partially vaccinated.
