Hello, neighbors! Sean Peek here with a fresh edition of the Buffalo Daily. First, today's weather: Cold; snow late in the p.m. High: 24 Low: 20. Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo: West Seneca police discovered a body on Thursday in the woods off of Transit Road near Buffalo Creek. The department shared in a social media post that the physical features of the body were consistent with 53-year-old Milton Monnin, who has been missing since Tuesday. The body has been retrieved by the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office for official confirmation of the man's identity and the cause of death. (Buffalo News)The state has dropped charges against 22-year-old Courtland Renford, who is currently serving a five-year federal sentence for starting a fire in Buffalo City Hall and being a looter in an Elmwood Avenue convenience store. Both sentences came from events during a night of disturbances in May 2020 following the death of George Floyd. Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said there was no reason to use resources to continue the additional charges against Renford. (WBFO)A group rallied outside of Buffalo City Hall on Thursday evening to urge the city and Common Council to conduct an independent structural review of the Great Northern Grain Elevator. An engineering report produced by Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) had previously called for the emergency demolition of the grain elevator, which was damaged in a wind storm last December. In addition to the independent review, Citizens to Save Great Northern has called on the Buffalo Common Council to issue a 60-day moratorium on demolition. (WGRZ.com) Today in Buffalo: Crafts To Go!
