COVID-19 related deaths and infections continue to surge in western Kentucky.
The Green River District Health Department counted 14 COVID-related deaths in the seven-county district between Friday and Monday.
Eleven of the fatalities were in Daviess County, where the pandemic death toll reached 336.
The other three COVID-related deaths were in Henderson, Union, and McLean counties.
The department also tallied more than 3,000 new infections in the district during the four-day period.
District Health Director Clay Horton continued to urge Kentuckians to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
In a release, the district said nearly 58 percent of Daviess County residents and about 56.5 percent of Henderson County residents are fully vaccinated.
Hancock County has the district's highest vaccination rate at more than 64 percent. Ohio County has the lowest at about 43 percent.
