CONCORD, NH — Two new testing sites for free coronavirus and COVID-19 PCR tests will open in New Hampshire next week. ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care, in partnership with the state of New Hampshire, has been running four sites, seven days a week, in Claremont at the River Valley Community College, 303 Beech St. in Manchester, Nashua, at 25 Crown St., and the Fox Run Mall in Newington. Hours for testing run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The two new sites include Whale's Tale Water Park in Lincoln and in Belmont, at 96 Daniel Webster Highway. In Lincoln, testing will begin on Sunday; in Belmont, it begins on Tuesday. All six locations will have the same operational hours and the testing is open to both symptomatic and asymptomatic people. No insurance is necessary. All locations were be utilizing polymerase chain reaction tests for SARS CoV-2, the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease. For other testing locations, visit the state's COVID-19 information site, including testing option information, linked here. The state of New Hampshire is also offering free PCR tests via Vault Medical Services but results will take up to three days to be returned. For more information, visit the ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care testing website. Get Ready For Tax Season Tax season kicks off next week and the Internal Revenue Service is reminding taxpayers to be protected from fraud. Officials suggest choosing a tax preparer wisely and requesting their preparer ID number, which they are required to have. Do not work with ghost preparers who are not willing to sign a tax return that they prepare. Tax filers should not fall prey to promises of large refunds and should not sign blank returns. All refunds should be deposited into the tax filer's bank account not the preparer's account. The IRS will not call and threaten tax filers with legal action. Hang up immediately on threatening phone calls. Also, do not respond to text messages, emails, or social media posts from anyone claiming to be the IRS. Tax filers should also not click on any links or open any attachments from unsolicited emails. Lastly, protect your personal and financial information and never provide it to people who text message, email, or contact you via social media. "As we come to the start of another tax season, it is an important time to remind taxpayers to protect themselves from the ever-evolving tax schemes that my office investigates in the New England Region," Joleen Simpson, the special agent in charge of the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Division, Boston Field Office, said. FRM Victims' Recovery Fund The victims of Financial Resources Mortgage have until mid-May to file applications seeking compensation from the FRM Victims' Contribution Recovery Fund. Victims who seek indemnification from the fund must complete and return an application either electronically or by mail. For more information, visit the victim's fund website.
