JOLIET, IL — Joliet police have arrested a 36-year-old Joliet woman on four counts of aggravated battery in connection with an attack against a bartender at Rey De Copas, 723 Collins St. The incident involving a broken beer bottle happened around 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 28.
According to police reports, one of the bartenders was approached by Carla Sis-Lem De Yoj and an argument ensued regarding Sis-Lem De Yoj's boyfriend.
"During the argument, the suspect grabbed a glass beer bottle, broke it, and then used it to cut the victim on the left forearm, causing two large lacerations," Joliet police reports show. The suspect ran out of the bar before Joliet police cars arrived at the scene.
In December, Joliet detectives determined that Sis-Lem De Yoj was responsible for the attack inside Rey De Copas, and a warrant was issued for her arrest on four aggravated battery charges, police reports indicate.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sis-Lem De Yoj was processed at the Joliet Police Department, and she was released from custody on an I-bond pending her next court date, according to police.
Sis-Lem De Yoj lives in the 300 block of Herkimer Street, arrest logs show.
