2 Running Cars Stolen In 1 Day In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are investigating a pair of motor vehicle thefts that took place on the same day. Both cars had been left running when they were stolen on Jan. 12, according to a recent police blotter. Car Stolen in 2000 block of Prentiss Drive A resident told police he left his tan 2008 BMW 528i running with its keys inside while he ran into his apartment to brush his teeth. When he returned, he noticed the car had been stolen. The incident took place just before 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 12. Car Stolen in 6500 block of Puffer Road A 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport was stolen from a home in the 6500 block of Puffer Road on Jan. 12. The resident told police he started his car around 7:45 a.m. to warm it up before he left for work. When he went back outside, he noticed the car had been stolen.
