FREMONT, CA — A worker on the powertrain line at Tesla's Fremont assembly plant died early Wednesday morning, according to reports.
Cal-Occupational Safety and Health Administration spokesman Peter Melton told KTVU that state investigators are in the process of gathering more information to determine the work-relatedness of this event and whether to conduct an inspection.
The worker may have died of natural causes while at work.
Aisha Knowles, a spokesperson for the Fremont Fire Department, told the Bay Area News Group that the first firefighters who arrived "updated the response to a medical emergency and said there was no machinery involved."
An ambulance team pronounced the man dead. His name has not been released.
