DETROIT — A man was charged Thursday in connection with the killing of a missing woman who's remains were found in a Detroit home, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced. Rondell Lamar Watters has been charged with one count of open murder, one count of mutilation of a body, and one count of tampering with evidence, prosecutors said. Investigators found the remains of Latima Warren, 32, in two separate bags inside Watters' Detroit home located at 8940 Vaughn St. on Monday, the prosecutors said. Warren was reported missing by the grandmother of her children on Dec. 28. The bags containing Warren's remains were found by a cadaver dog and were given to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, which determined them to be of Warren, prosecutors said. "Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Ms. Warren," Chief James E. White said. "This is beyond tragic and I am thankful for the men and women of the Detroit Police Department who have worked tireless on this case." Watters has a probable cause conference scheduled for Feb. 3, at 8:30 a.m. and a preliminary examination scheduled for Feb. 10, at 9:00 a.m. in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King.
