Automotive paint prepper. Job qualifications: Perfect job for a woman who genuinely likes cars & enjoy’s working with her hands. No experience necessary/will train. Job description: prepare cars for paint. $600 wk, + $100 raise every 3 months up to a year ($1,000 wk after one year). — — Additional details: Though I’ll train you initially, you’ll have the autonomy to work on the cars your way w/ limited oversight. So free job training w/ overtime available on a flexible schedule doing work that you enjoy. Every car is different, and so every day’s a new day. If you need to run an errand or go to lunch, or run home, you’ll have a key to come and go / make up the time. — — Additional job description details: Start the fan. Blow the dust off the car. Clean the car with organic and or chemical cleaners. Tape the car. Sand the panels for paint adhesion. Scuff the panels where sandpaper can’t reach. If there’s a small dent, we may have to fix it ourselves. Mix primer and prime the car with a spray gun then clean the gun, & block the primer straight once dry. Start the down draft booth. (Jump start if necessary) and pull the car and the parts inside the booth. Apply plastic sheeting/overspray. Buff out a spot on the car and camera shot the color and input the color information into the computer and mix the base coat color in the amounts that the computer selects. Mix the sealer, base coat, and clear coat and paint the inside of the car if needed, order paint supplies, run the waste cooker, replace the floor filters, & more. — — Fun job. We work on new cars and SUV’s, not busses and boats and what not. Pays very well. (See me in person and we can talk more). Flexible hours. Come in at 4:00 AM or leave at 7:00 PM or 1:00 AM, or do whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it. And it’s easy work! — — Note: Most people, 90% of the people, can do this. But there are a few who just don’t have the knack for it, like some draftsmen who can’t rotate a 3D object in their head. If you believe you can do this, you can, as all skills can be learned, and I would love to meet with you. — — A little about me: I’m in my mid 50’s w/ 33 years experience as an Automotive refinishing technician, and I still love getting up and going to work every day. I’ve worked for Rick Hendrick in Raleigh, NC. Pohanka in D.C. I recently came back to Detroit after working for Han’s Auto Body in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I’ve worked on the Dodge Viper project for MASCO. I’ve worked on mules for GM’s Saturn division. I’ve been at a BMW dealer in New York. I was the lead paint tech at the former Bill Rowan Olds/Cadillac dealer here in Southgate. I was the top producing painter at Bill Fox Chevrolet in Rochester, MI. I turned more hours and made more money than anyone in the dealership; body, paint or service. I’ve worked in Alexandria, Virginia. Naples. Baltimore. Phoenix. Camden, New Jersey. Denver. Vegas. Chicago, Myrtle Beach, SC & Loma Linda, California. My after work interests include going to the gym and studying quantum gravity’s link to particle astrophysics and cosmology. I’m a non-smoker and attend church regularly. — — There is so much to learn in this business that it keeps you interested, engaged, and fulfilled. + The owner here is super cool (BONUS), and he will never micro manage you.
