REPORTS TO Maintenance Manager/Campground Owner/Manager(s) GENERAL DUTIES Responsible for ensuring that the outdoor space is properly designed and cared for. Expected to often trim, mow, or prune greenery; remove weeds and dead material; and nourish plants by mulching, aerating, fertilizing, and watering. SPECIFIC DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: Provide trimming, mowing, leaf blowing, and or pruning greenery around maintenance & campground buildings, facilities, and grounds as directed by the Owners. Provide excellent and friendly guest service by being attentive, responsive, and helpful to all guest’s needs. Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome and professional demeanor. Present a positive impression with a well-groomed appearance, smile, and clean KOA uniform. Implement daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning programs as needed or as outlined by the immediate supervisor. Examples include but are not limited to: mowing the overnight section, trimming weeds near the bathhouse and laundry room, mowing near all cabins, maintaining a landscape around sewage treatment plant, mowing/trimming around lakes and buildings, garbage pick-up, fire ring cleaning, and maintaining all campground equipment used. Comply with all federal and state safety programs by adhering to established guidelines in the operation and storage of various equipment, tools, and chemicals, ensuring your safety, as well as that of fellow staff, campground facilities, and campground guests. Report all customer problems, requests, or complaints to the owners, and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible. Perform all other duties assigned by the owners. EMPLOYEE EXPECTATIONS Maintain campground to meet high expectations of campers. ● Professional attitude dedicated to maintaining the campground and serving the needs of our guests resulting in happy campers. ● Timely reporting of all landscaping needed. Follow-up with corrective action in the areas under the team member’s capabilities. ● Timely reporting of all guest concerns and requests. Follow-up with corrective action in the areas under the team member’s capabilities. ● Properly meet safe work practices and the procedures for accident prevention. ● Timely reporting of all accidents and safety hazards. ● Willingness to be trained on proper propane refill procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ● Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. ● Long periods of standing, bending, and kneeling. ● Must be able to safely operate various maintenance tools and equipment. ● You must be physically capable of performing expected duties in a professional and efficient manner. JOB QUALIFICATIONS ● Knowledge of riding lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, weed eaters, edgers, and multiple other landscape tools. ● Basic knowledge of lawn care. ● Knowledge of safe handling of chemical properties, handling, and usage. ● Knowledge of propane and gasoline dispensing. ● A valid Driver’s License is required.
