Hello!
I currently work with men who have been convicted of one of more felony charges. None of the men I work with have a history of violence or sexual crimes. These are people who have struggled with addiction, but have worked very hard to make positive changes in their lives. In order to successfully complete the program they are currently in, the Gallatin County Re-entry Program, they have to maintain sobriety, maintain consistent employment, engage in mental health and addiction counseling and other tasks specific to their program. When they are eligible for discharge, they will continue to be monitored by probation, where they will need to continue to be required to verify sobriety and employment, among other things. These men have made mistakes, but have also worked very hard to overcome the issues that led to their being convicted. I know finding housing in the Bozeman area is challenging for even the most qualified renter, so asking for special consideration for these men may seem, I don't know, odd or perhaps unfair. I'm just hoping to help these men continue their forward progress in becoming valuable and productive members of society again. I appreciate your time in reading this. Please, if you have any ideas or resources I may be able to use in helping, feel free to contact me via this post
Again, thank you for your time and have a great day/week/year!
Sincerely, Jen Kamps
