Description
Guitarist / vocalist looking for at least a bassist and drummer to start a progressive-metal band with. Here’s a rough mix of my shortest, tightest song, which I’m currently working on finishing up.

I’ve been focusing on this exclusively since it’s the most straightforward project I have to work on, but most of my songs are long, escalating epics. I’m obsessed with those angry, evil-sounding harmonic minor keys, and have been recently writing more stuff in big, odd time signatures.
Potential bassists and drummers should be interested in polyrhythms; I really love the complexity of seemingly dissonant counts meeting up every few bars. While I don’t expect every drummer to immediately have a kit large enough to accommodate this, my favorite percussion style is a tom-heavy approach where 7-12 of them are played somewhat like a melodic instrument.
Most importantly looking for people that I can successfully write with. Most of my best ideas come to me away from instruments, and I’d like to find bandmates that can work the same way, as opposed to those that get most of their progress done by jamming. My process involves ruthlessly tearing my music apart, sometimes over years until I can’t perceive any remaining filler, so a tolerance, or embrace of my hyper-critical attitude would make a good fit, but I suppose I could also use some influence in the way of actually finishing more shit.
Send me a link to some of your work (you can’t forward attachments through Craigslist’s email routing), maybe some of your influences, favorite bass licks, or anything else you think is relevant.
