Oregon Delivery Company, LLC is hiring Independent Contract Drivers to help deliver delayed luggage from PDX. We will begin operations on 2/1/2021. We are currently working to staff up and contract drivers to handle the work. Drivers need to have a reliable and fuel efficient vehicle and smartphone for routing and update information. Temperament is most important. If you are easily frustrated or a "hot head", this is probably not an opportunity you will want to do. We are the bridge between the public and the airline so at times we will be dealing with upset people. If you take things personally or have thin skin... being honest, it will not work out for you or for us. We offer a variety of contracting options for pay. You tell us the days and times you are available and we roll with that so you can decide your schedule. The key to success is to be available when the deliveries are. If you are available only Monday at 7pm and we have deliveries then... you will make money. If you are available and we have no deliveries, you will not make money. We delivery luggage. This is not espionage. It is very simple and easy to make money for those who use good common sense and have the ability to think through problems and fix them. This is a driving job. You will put miles on a vehicle. As a contractor, you are responsible for your expenses, however, by keeping up with mileage and expenses, you receive the full tax deduction. As an independent contractor, you are a business owner and we contract with you to service the contracts that we hold. It is a great opportunity and this is new for us in this city. We do not have a lot of turn over, as most people who start this and get it... stay. We are moving luggage and other checked items delayed that arrive on future aircraft. The ability to lift heavy things is important, usually up to 50 lbs but occasionally more with help. We definitely need those who like driving at night and we have all times available right now. We are looking for self-sufficient people who care...that want to work and hate having a boss. If that is you... we want to talk to you. We offer mileage pay or percentage pay. Our standard contract for mileage is $.50 per mile loaded and $.30 mile unloaded with $5.00 per stop. Our standard percentage pay is 60% of all billing to the driver. Pricing is volume priced so this is route work as routes are put together. There is rarely one delivery at a time. We work on a net 15 contract as sometimes we have to wait for deposits... not often, but does happen. We offer 2 ways to get paid. Weekly: Sunday to Saturday paid following Friday for the amount due. Or Semi Monthly. 1 to 15 paid by 31st, 16 to 31st paid by 15th. with 3% added for this option. Dispatchers We need three people that can work in a fast paced environment who are good at thinking on their feet. We use excel alot, so experience is helpful. Routing experience and understanding delivery durations is very important. The ability to effectively communicate with people and think on your feet is super important. There are times when it is super busy and times when it is agonizingly slow. We need someone who is adaptable that cares about people. We have a day position, a evening/night position and a relief position to work 2 days and 2 nights. This position is as an employee. Pay rate base is $17.00 per hour. We need solid people for this position. About me... I am David. I am a Texan, with the draw and everything. I work in 14 airports in 8 states. I have been doing this for 15 years and I care about my people, my airlines, and their passengers. I don't like bosses which is why I work with Independent minded people to help them build businesses of their own. I have found more than a few in my travels and many of the people I first hired still work for me to this day.
