ALBERTA ABBEY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Facilities Manager Part-time (⁓15 hrs/wk) January 2022 ORGANIZATION: Established in 2012, the Alberta Abbey Foundation is a non-profit arts and culture center. Offering spaces for artists and creative organizations, diverse program offerings, and partnerships with art organizations and community groups, the Alberta Abbey has created a dynamic and inclusive community dedicated to supporting the arts and their impact on the culture of Portland, Oregon. More information can be found at POSITION SUMMARY: The Alberta Abbey is seeking an energetic problem-solver and multi-tasker to begin in January 2022. The successful candidate will possess a desire to lead facilities management for a growing non-profit. This is a complex position that will afford great learning opportunities. We are seeking a dedicated person to join our small staff. Alberta Abbey is committed to equity so we are especially interested in candidates who bring lived experience to working in a diverse environment. Candidates with experience with building maintenance in a historic building are encouraged to submit. Specific experience with construction, painting, minor electrical work, and other handy tasks is a plus! Early risers encouraged to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilities Manager is the primary steward for the physical building. This includes oversight of tenant studios/offices, building systems, and supplies and inventory. There is an expectation that this position will handle basic handyperson projects and troubleshoot ongoing needs for a historically designated, older building. In addition, the Facilities Manager may be required to perform related tasks as needed. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and contractors Maintain working knowledge of electrical circuits/capacity Organizing, cleaning, maintaining storage areas Carry rental assets or other objects to and from rented spaces, weighing up to 50lbs Communication and coordination with Alberta Abbey staff Maintaining building supplies and maintenance inventory Working knowledge of HVAC systems Maintaining manuals and other building documentation Handles basic maintenance and repairs and supports potential renovation projects Prioritizes safety and health practices compliant with governing laws and house policies COMPENSATION: $18-20 per hour DOE SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM to 10 AM, Monday through Friday APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
