Groove Theory is a free program series and community for music producers, audio engineers, and recording artists to connect, collaborate, and level up their craft. If you are a DIY musician, home recording enthusiast, bedroom producer, professional studio engineer, or just someone interested in recording and producing music, join us!
6 PM: Meetup participants are invited to share original, recorded works-in-progress to get constructive and supportive feedback from their peers.
7:15 PM: Masterclass with Aimerie on Sound Design: Introduction to Synthesis.
Learn from Ableton Certified Trainer and electronic musician, Aimerie, for a sound design crash course in synthesis. This session will cover the different types of sound synthesis and core knowledge applicable to most hardware and software synthesizers found around the world. Whether your goals include creating sounds “from scratch” or a better ability to customize sound presets to your liking, the concepts discussed in this workshop will benefit all musicians wanting to brush up on the basics and enhance their sound design skill set. While all genres are welcome, this program focuses on skills relating to producing and writing electronic, hip-hop, and pop styles of music.
COVID-19 Policy: The Music District requires proof of vaccination. Plan to bring your vaccination card or proof of vaccination on the myColorado app and your ID for entry. If you forget your proof of vaccination, you will not be permitted in the Music District. Masks are also required for entry and for the duration of the event.
