Edible Homescapes 2022 farm hand position Location: Pine Hill road, Westport MA Dates and Times (open to adjusting hours to your needs) March - November, 14-21 hrs / week. March - April: Tuesdays and Saturdays May - November: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Job Description: You would be working with me and occasionally alone to manage a one acre market garden on all tasks from bed prep to farmers markets. Duties Farm Work: -Bed preparation -Propagation -Planting -Weeding -Harvesting -Fall clean up Farmers Market: -attend Saturday Farmers Market, -set up and break down market stand, -represent Edible homescapes in an engaging, and responsible manner -track sales and log data into spreadsheets Occasionally assisting in off-site Edible Gardening Jobs Stay creative and help develop the brand. Growth with the business is an option. Experience / Skills / Requirements -No experience is required, however priority will be given to somebody with some level of farming/ gardening experience -Basic computer and social media skills are helpful -A consistent, swift pace of work is expected -You need to have a reliable form of transportation -You should be comfortable: --working in various weather conditions --Lifting 40 pounds regularly --Talking with the public at markets and at the farm -You need to have appropriate work gear: Closed to shoes, rain gear, sun protection Compensation -Compensation is from 14-16$ / hour depending on your level of experience. -Free Fresh Produce
