WHEN: Saturday Feb 12th 2022 TIME: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM WHERE: Elite Fitness & Strength DIVISIONS: RX (ages 16-39) & MASTERS RX (ages 40+) Mixed Gender Teams Only (3 males & 3 females) Entry fee covers: Team entry fee for 6 persons, 5 separate scored events, (6) exclusive athlete event shirts, and an opportunity to represent your gym and win both the grand prize as well as the Strength Super Bowl Trophy. Athlete substitution up until the day of event by having your substitute athlete sign your team waiver on event day. There will be 5 events. Every athlete must participate in ONLY 3 events so you can chose your best team members to participate in each individual event. Team captains must assign their athletes to each event upon check-in. Event 1: 1-RM Overhead Squat On a running clock, 2 females and 2 males (4 team members) will have 12 minutes to find their 1-RM Overhead Squat. Each pair will have a 6-min cap. The females will go in minutes 0:00 - 6:00 and males will go in minutes 6:01 - 12:00. Score will be the total load lifted amongst the 4 team members. This event will be performed at the rig. The event will begin with an unloaded barbell on the rig. At the start of the event, the barbell can then be loaded to the desired weight for the first attempt. The pair can make attempts in any order with any load moving up or down in weight to establish each of the athletes 1-RM. Event 1 Movement standards: In the overhead squat, the barbell must be kept overhead with the arms locked. At the bottom, the crease of the hips must pass below the height of the knee cap. At the top, the knees and hips must be completely open with the barbell in control and over the heels. Event 2: 2-RM Bench Press On a running clock, 2 females and 2 males (4 team members) will have 10 minutes to find their 2-RM Bench Press. Each pair will have a 5-min cap. The females will go in minutes 0:00 - 5:00 and males will go in minutes 5:01 - 10:00. Score will be the total load lifted amongst the 4 team members. This event will be performed at the rig. The event will begin with an unloaded barbell on the rig. At the start of the event, the barbell can then be loaded to the desired weight for the first attempt. The pair can make attempts in any order with any load moving up or down in weight to establish each of the athletes 2-RM. Event 2 Movement standards: Each rep on the bench press begins and ends with the arms are full extension when gripping the bar bell. The athletes pinky finger may not be outside of the second group ring on the bar. The athletes thumb must be wrapped around the bar. In the bottom position, the barbell miss make contact with the chest. The athletes feet must remain in contact with the floor and the athletes head, shoulders and glutes must remain in contact with a bench for the duration of the rep. Each athlete will have a spotter. You are allowed to use the spotter to help on the lift off. However, before you begin actually lowering the bar you must wait for the “START” command from the judge. If the spotter is used for assistance during the lift, that repetition will not count. Event 3: 2400 m Sandbag Relay Run For Time 2 females and 2 males (in a female/male/female/male format) will have a total of 12 minutes to complete the 2400m Sandbag Run. Score will be the time it takes to complete the 2400m under the 12 minute cap. This event will be performed outdoors. Each team will have 2 weighted sandbags one with a designated weight for males and one with a designated weight for females (weights TBA). Each team member will trade off running 200m (100m out and back) with the weighted sandbag. Each member will run 3 times totaling 2,400 meters. Movement standards: The sandbag can be carried in any fashion but must be off the ground the entire time during the athlete’s turn to run. Event 4: 1 - RM Bear Complex On a running clock, 2 females and 2 males (4 team members) will have 14 minutes to find their 1-RM Bear Complex. Each pair will have a 7-min cap. The females will go in minutes 0:00 - 7:00 and males will go in minutes 7:01 - 14:00. Score will be the total load lifted amongst the 4 team members. This event will begin with an unloaded barbell on the ground. At the start of the event, the barbell can then be loaded to the desired weight for the first attempt. The pair can make attempts in any order with any load moving up or down in weight to establish each of the athletes 1-RM. Bear Complex Movements: 1 Power Clean 1 Front Squat 1 Push Press 1 Back Squat 1 Push Press The five movements known as the “Bear Complex” comprise one repetition. Only one complete complex needs to be perform to count for a good attempt however, the complex must be performed unbroken. Movement standards: Complete unbroken reps of the following complex: Clean (any style), Front Squat (Squat Cleans are acceptable), Shoulder to Overhead from the front rack (any style- including thruster-jerks), Back Squat, and Shoulder to Overhead from the back rack (any style).
