TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man in the 6100 block of Nebraska Avenue Thursday. North Nebraska Avenue near East Hanna Avenue has reopened for traffic in both directions but the curb lane of Nebraska Avenue heading south is closed while the investigation continues. Police received several calls just after 3 p.m. of shots heard. When they arrived, they found the 19-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Despite attempting to save the man's life, he died at the scene. Detectives do not believe this was a random shooting. Anyone with information on the shooting should call the police non-emergency line at 813-231-6130.
