Press release from the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office: January 19, 2022 WAKEFIELD - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Wakefield Chief of Police Steven Skory have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred tonight around 6:26 p.m. on Main Street in the area of Hanson Street. The preliminary investigation suggests that a woman in her 60s was struck by a man in his 50s operating a Nissan Frontier truck. The pedestrian was responsive on scene and transported by medical flight to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she later died.  The driver of the truck stayed on scene. This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Wakefield Police and the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
