Sewer System Pump Station Operator Town of Westwood Qualified candidates are sought for the position of Sewer Pump Operator to perform skilled technical & manual work in the operation, maintenance & repair of wastewater system & pump stations. Partial List of Duties: Preventative & emergency repair on all equipment involved in the operation of a sewer system. Calibrate & adjust mechanical equipment. Identify potential problems & breakdowns & take corrective action. Related plumbing & pipefitting tasks, simple welding, basic electrical, carpentry & painting work. Enter manholes to determine cause of blockages. Operate equipment related to the operation of a wastewater pumping station. Education/Experience: High school education; 2 yrs. experience in general mechanical & maintenance activities including operation of pumps; or any equivalent combination of education & experience. Basic computer knowledge required. A valid MA Class B driver’s license required. Ability to obtain a WEF/ABC Class II Wastewater Collection Systems Personnel Certification within one year of employment preferred. Salary: Current annual salary range $55,034 - $63,217, plus comprehensive benefits package. Union position.
