TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police warned Tuesday about "warm-up thefts," where thieves steal cars left running in the driveway.
"During the cold winter months, drivers may be tempted to warm up their cars while they stay warm inside," a graphic shared by the police said. "Think twice before leaving your car running unattended. Car thieves are on the lookout for these vehicles warming up in driveways."
The town is forecasted to be below freezing most of the time for the next week, according to the National Weather Service.
"With these frigid winter mornings, it is easy to let your guard down," the police said.
